Report a fraudulent website
If you spot a fraudulent website or receive a text message or email containing a suspicious link, please let us know.
- In the case of a text message, you can send a screenshot of the message to the email address cert@cert.ee. The link should be visible in the screenshot.
- In the case of an email, you can simply forward it to cert@cert.ee.
CERT-EE, the incident response team of the Information System Authority, monitors developments in Estonia’s cyberspace around the clock; it can verify the information received and take the necessary steps to ensure that the fraudulent site is no longer accessible on the internet and that no one falls victim to it.
The term ‘fraudulent website’ can refer both to phishing pages (pages that imitate existing services, thereby phishing for users’ data to gain access to their accounts and, for example, steal money or send phishing links to their contacts) or other types of fraudulent pages where scammers ostensibly offer products that are not actually delivered to the buyer, or services (such as investment services or other services) through which money is swindled from people.
In the case of an email, it would be great if you could download the email you suspect is a scam and forward it as an attachment. For example, in the case of Gmail, you can find instructions on how to do this here. If you are unable to send the letter as an attachment, you can simply forward it to the email address cert@cert.ee.
Fraudulent websites will not disappear on their own. Your report matters!
